Insecurity: Gov Wike Imposes curfew in Rivers, tightens security

The governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has impose curfew in Rivers State following security challenges facing the state. 


The governor said this when issuing a press statement, he says "You know about the new security breaks and dangerous assaults on security staff by yet to be recognized shooters and scoundrels" . 



On Saturday 24th the April 2021 some honest officials of the Customs, Police and Civil Defense authorities on their obligation posts along the Port Harcourt – Owerri express way were trapped and abhorrently killed without hesitating by outfitted assailants. 


The following day, that is, Sunday, 25th April 2021, the State saw another destructive assault and killing of officials and men of the Nigerian Army directly in their obligation post at Abua town in Abua/Odual Local Government Area of the State.

Thus, a night time limitation is therefore forced and no individual or vehicle is permitted into and out of Rivers State from 8.00 p.m. to 6.00 a.m. from tomorrow 28th April 2021 until additional notification. 

We wish to exhort that the individuals who have any real need or motivation to come into or leave the State should do as such before 8.00 p.m. at the point when the time limitation will come into power every day.
