The country's top social and cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo, has responded to the recent appointment of a new Chief of Staff in place of Major General Farouk Yahaya by President Buhari.
According to a Sahara newspaper report, the party's position was revealed by Ohanaeze Ndigbo's secretary general, Okechukwu Isiguzoro.
He congratulated the new Chief of Army Staff but emphasized that it was very clear that a northern man would never solve the security situation in North or Nigeria, as some police officers in the region were considered troublemakers in the protests, as they were in favor of budgeting for the army and councilors.
The Ohanaeze author reiterated that the President once again, showed that he is not the president of them all, but is a section president who is determined to love a particular region by harming other region, in the ongoing violation of Federal Character policy.
Also, in his remarks, Ohanaeze National Marketing Secretary, Alex Ogbonnia, concluded that the Igbo people are not happy with the appointment, stressing that some South-East Generals would be appointed because they are best suited for the position.
He added that the district was unhappy, adding that it was very sad, and very bad because it was very difficult to convince the youth of the district to calm down in the midst of evictions such as the provincial government's ban on the formation of the government.
He also pointed out that the more the elders tried to persuade the youth to calm down, the more they lamented the stigma attached to it and the President confirmed the exclusion by excluding the district from being elected instead of the army chief.
